For this project, I designed a custom blackletter typeface, bridging traditional calligraphy with digital type design. The process began with physical mastery, using a blackletter broad-nib pen to hand-ink every individual stroke. I systematically drafted the entire character set—including uppercase, lowercase, and symbols—focusing on the rhythmic verticality and precise angles inherent to the style.

After refining the analog sheets, I scanned the hand-drawn characters into a digital environment. Using Glyphs, I meticulously traced the forms, adjusted the kerning, and perfected the spacing to ensure the historical weight of the pen strokes translated into a functional, modern font.
